For aid professionals, by aid professionals
Disberse was founded by Ben Joakim and Paul Currion. Between them, Ben and Paul have over 30 years’ experience working in aid, managing funds and driving innovation across the globe
Coming from different perspectives, Ben and Paul recognised the same problem - the specific needs of the aid industry weren’t being met by existing financial institutions. At the same time, advances in financial technology and financial regulation had created the space for innovation in aid finance - advances which Disberse builds on.
Our approach is simple: we’re building our platform with partners, testing it continually and paying attention to the ethics of humanitarian innovation. We’re on a journey, building a transparent and decentralised financial institution, helping you to distribute aid finance to where it’s most needed.
We bring together expertise in international development and humanitarian crisis response, social enterprise, finance and technology.
